Laser Head Flow Tubes for Cosmetic Lasers
For Medical and Cosmetic Laser Equipment
Flow tubes are precision quartz tubes inside the laser head that surround the flash lamp and laser rod. Deionized cooling water flows through them, carrying heat away from the lamp and rod on every pulse. Because the pump light must pass through the tube on its way to the rod, flow tubes are made from high-transmission quartz that stays optically clear and thermally stable shot after shot. On some systems, like Palomar handpieces, the tubes are also color-doped to filter the lamp’s output to the treatment wavelength.
Flow tubes are standard replacement items during any laser head rebuild. If you are opening the head to replace a flash lamp or rod, inspect the tubes and seals while you are in there; reusing degraded tubes is the most common reason a rebuilt head underperforms.
Flow tubes are model-specific and usually sold as complete sets with the O-rings and seal kits needed for a watertight rebuild. Candela systems use two-tube sets on the Gentle family, while Cynosure Apogee Elite and Acclaim heads use three-tube kits with light-blocking rings. Newer-style Candela triple bore assemblies build the flow channels into a single quartz piece, so no separate flow tubes are needed; we can advise which configuration your head uses before you order.
